This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee a real-time overview of Managed Services resource availability, capacity, and utilization across various business units and practices.
• Detect trends of under- and over-utilization and propose corrective measures.
• Develop and manage a skills inventory database that encompasses capabilities, certifications, and development objectives.
• Anticipate resource needs 4–12 weeks in advance in collaboration with project managers and delivery leads.
• Host weekly or bi-weekly resource planning sessions with department heads and practice leaders.
• Promote an internal-first staffing approach prior to considering external recruitment.
• Establish thresholds with HR and talent acquisition for external hiring or contracting needs.
• Align bench-eligible, under-allocated, or growth-oriented employees with appropriate assignments.
• Maintain a pipeline of internal candidates for anticipated resource needs.
• Act as the main point of contact among delivery teams, people managers, HR, and leadership.
• Convey resourcing decisions and escalate conflicts or capacity limitations along with proposed solutions.
• Manage staffing vendors, contractors, and contingent workforce partners as necessary.
• Monitor contractor expenditures and compare internal costs.
• Ensure external hires are contracted at competitive market rates.
• Create resource utilization dashboards and leadership reports.
• Track utilization rates, bench time, internal versus external time-to-fill, and skill-gap trends.
• Provide forecasting reports for headcount planning and budgetary cycles.
• Recognize resource-gap patterns and contribute to workforce development and hiring strategies.
• 3–5 years of experience specifically in Resource Management.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Managed Services provider environment.
• Experience in managing resources across technical, project management, and operational functions.
• Data-driven mindset with a background in creating utilization reports and capacity forecasts.
• Outstanding interpersonal and negotiation abilities.
• Capacity to handle sensitive workforce discussions with discretion and empathy.
• Familiarity with roles and skill sets in cloud technology, including Azure, AWS, infrastructure, and DevOps.
• PMI, PMP, or ITIL certification is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
• Capability to balance immediate project demands with long-term workforce development objectives.
• Ability to establish trust with project leaders, people managers, HR, and executives.
• Proficient in clearly articulating trade-offs, decisions, and forecasts to diverse audiences.
• Ability to convert utilization and capacity data into actionable recommendations.
• Must reside within the Continental US.
• Willingness to travel approximately 5% of the time.
• Travel involvement of 5%.
