This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +8 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain type curves, production forecasts, and economic assessments for undeveloped inventory across various development scenarios.

• Analyze production and subsurface data to pinpoint optimization opportunities concerning spacing, landing targets, completions, and overall field development strategies.

• Perform competitor benchmarking and analyze public data sources to assess industry performance trends, development strategies, and emerging best practices, integrating insights into asset optimization and planning activities.

• Design, assess, and oversee pilot programs to evaluate emerging concepts, technologies, and industry best practices.

• Assist with reserves booking, budgeting, capital planning, and long-range development planning tasks.

• Convert technical and operational data into clear, actionable recommendations that enhance value creation and capital efficiency.

• Effectively communicate technical assumptions, risks, results, and recommendations to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

• Work closely with drilling, completions, geology, midstream, business development, and operations teams to support integrated asset development.

• Employ large datasets and contemporary analytical techniques, including machine learning and data-driven modeling where applicable, to enhance forecasting and operational performance.

• Exhibit strong ownership, analytical rigor, attention to detail, and adaptability within a dynamic, lean organization.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related engineering discipline is required.

• Minimum of 2 years of reservoir engineering experience, preferably within unconventional resource plays.

• Solid foundation in reservoir engineering fundamentals, production analysis, forecasting, type curve generation, and economic evaluation.

• Experience with decline curve analysis, development optimization, and scenario modeling.

• Proficiency in analytical and visualization tools such as Excel, Spotfire, Power BI, or similar platforms; coding and scripting experience is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with RTA, PTA, material balance, reservoir simulation, nodal analysis, or other reservoir modeling techniques is a plus.

• Strong understanding of best practices in drilling, completions, and production design, with experience working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.

• Proven ability to leverage analytics, automation, and large datasets to enhance technical workflows and produce actionable insights.

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with the capability to translate complex technical information into clear business recommendations.
