Research Scientist, AI for Clinical Translatability

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop models and datasets that link early drug discovery efforts to clinical applications, such as drug perturbation prediction, clinical translatability, patient stratification, and digital twins.

• Create benchmarks and evaluation techniques for agentic systems in digital biology, while also identifying current limitations of large language models (LLMs).

• Contribute original research and release software as open-source.

• Collaborate with leading researchers in the field of digital biology.

• Work alongside NVIDIA's research and engineering teams to translate research findings into products and services.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's, master's, or PhD degree in a quantitative discipline such as computational biology, computer science, computational chemistry, physics, or mathematics, or equivalent experience.

• A publication history in digital biology, preferably with a focus on clinical applications.

• Over 5 years of experience in building and training machine learning models at scale, along with supporting computational infrastructure.

• Expertise in contemporary machine learning frameworks like PyTorch or JAX.

• Strong understanding of statistical principles, including causal inference, experimental design, and clinical biostatistics.

• Capability to learn from and educate others on the latest advancements and tools in the field.

• Proven ability to work successfully within a close-knit team environment.

• Demonstrated experience in developing state-of-the-art methods in the clinical sector.

• Familiarity with clinical trial data, electronic health records, or regulatory science.

• Rigor in evaluation methods, encompassing temporal validation, benchmark design, data leakage prevention, and distribution-shift characterization.

• Experience in open-source software development.
