This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Assist mid-career scholars in enhancing their understanding of Canada’s involvement in the Indo-Pacific region.
• Suggest research topics related to Economic Security and Trade, Technology and Innovation, Indo-Pacific Geopolitics, Defence Industry, as well as Arctic and Northeast Asia Security.
• Engage in confidential briefings and deliver presentations at symposiums.
• Open to citizens and permanent residents of Canada and the United States.
• 7 to 15 years of experience post-PhD (or equivalent policy experience).
• Background in political science, economics, public policy, law, business, security studies, or related disciplines.
• Eagerness to take part in public-facing events, media interactions, and collaborative group activities.
• Grant: CAD 25,000 (distributed in two payments).
• Research platform: Support for publication from APF Canada for a flagship paper along with two policy briefs/op-eds.
• Policy access: Opportunity for closed-door briefings in Ottawa with federal officials.
• Visibility: Chance to present at the Toronto Symposium.
