Research Assistant, Part-time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Daily update the tracker for election deadlines and laws across all 50 states, while monitoring and recording state and local election dates and legal changes.

• Create one-pagers, memos, reports, explainers, and other documents that outline key issues related to Civic Nation’s democracy initiatives.

• Observe news and social media to assist the Communications team in addressing actionable items during relevant news cycles.

• Keep track of legislative, legal, and administrative changes concerning Civic Nation’s democracy initiatives.

• Collaborate with the Research Contractor to fact-check documents and other materials for accuracy.

• Ensure organized documentation and maintain research files.

• Carry out other reasonable and pertinent tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 1 year of research experience, which may include academic work and internships.

• More than 1 year of experience within nonprofit and/or political settings, including internships.

• Proficient in Google Suite, encompassing Google Sheets, Google Calendar, Google Docs, and Asana.

• Strong dedication to democratic participation and engagement in civic activities.

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

• Experience in converting large volumes of information into clear explainers and memos.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Capability to handle substantial amounts of information and spreadsheets effectively.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.

• Strong skills in teamwork, critical thinking, multitasking, and problem-solving.

• Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.

• Ability to work collaboratively with staff at all levels within the organization.

• Adaptability in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
