Research Assistant – Infectious Diseases

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Carry out research experiments and assays

• Analyze research outcomes, document findings, and engage in discussions about project results with team members

• Execute data entry tasks and manage research data files

• Adhere to established safety protocols and maintain necessary documentation regarding laboratory and specimen conditions

• Collaborate on research projects with other institutions and researchers

• Participate in formulating hypotheses and testing methodologies

• Assist with general supply and equipment orders, as well as lab maintenance and sanitation

• Conduct literature reviews on designated topics

• Facilitate implementation science research, public health clinical trials, grant management, logistics, and project coordination

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and/or experience may fulfill minimum educational requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in laboratory operations

• Capability to perform duties aligned with WashU’s core mission and guiding principles

• Willingness to work in a laboratory setting that may involve exposure to biological and chemical hazards

• Physical capability to wear protective gear

• Ability to satisfactorily perform essential job functions

• Successful completion of necessary pre-employment screenings, including criminal background checks, drug screening, employment verification, education or licensure/certification validation, physical examination, vaccinations, and/or governmental registry checks

• No specific certification or professional license is required

• A driver’s license is not necessary
