Research Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Perform desk research, which includes conducting literature reviews, policy analyses, and summarizing evidence.

• Oversee citation management and maintain a collaborative evidence library.

• Facilitate stakeholder engagement through activities such as note-taking, meeting preparation, maintaining a stakeholder database, and coordinating convenings.

• Assist in proposal writing and provide technical reviews as necessary.

• Utilize quantitative or qualitative analysis skills according to the needs of the project.

• Write, proofread, and format research publications.

• Create dissemination materials, including presentations, evidence briefs, and reports.

• Verify facts and ensure quality control of materials prior to external distribution.

• Support the Climate x SRHR project and report directly to the Research Lead.

⛳️ Requirements

• Graduate-level training or equivalent experience in public health, social science, or a similar discipline.

• Strong research and writing capabilities.

• Authentic interest in climate resilience and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).

• Exceptional writing proficiency.

• Detail-oriented approach.

• Enthusiastic, inquisitive, and a natural problem solver.

• Rigorous methodology in sourcing, citations, and ensuring evidence quality.

• Strong communication skills and a readiness to voice uncertainties.

• Experience with quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis software is preferred.

• Ability to work flexible hours with a reasonable overlap with YLabs teams in the US and East Africa.

• Successful completion of a background check and clearance of criminal records are required for employment offers.
