Reporter – Carbon Markets

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Gather and evaluate spot market price transactions from participants in the industry.

• Ensure the authenticity of transactions while following DJE pricing methodology to produce daily price assessments.

• Create alerts for breaking news and features regarding carbon markets, clean energy, and environmental sustainability initiatives and legislation that affect pricing.

• Investigate and report on emerging developments in carbon policies and programs.

• Assist in producing content for social media, write blog entries, conduct industry analysis, and publish reports.

• Build networks and cultivate sources within the carbon industry.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in journalism or market analysis, ideally within the environmental, commodities, or financial sectors.

• Experience in price reporting specifically related to carbon markets (cap-and-trade/cap-and-invest/voluntary).

• Ability to distill complex regulatory and market issues into clear and comprehensible content.

• Established sources and proactive engagement with market contacts and stakeholders.

• Proficient in analyzing data and market drivers swiftly using Excel and spreadsheets.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
