This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Oversee project management and coordination across various functions with Repair Operations teams, external partners, and engineering groups to address intricate repair challenges.
• Manage the complete repair lifecycle for Ciena products.
• Collaborate closely with Ciena Engineering teams to enhance repair enablement, prepare for first pass evaluations (FPE), and initiate continuous process improvement projects related to Repairs Operations.
• Lead and oversee initiatives aimed at reducing MRB, thereby facilitating opportunities for cost reduction and minimizing lead times.
• Establish, manage, and report on vital operational metrics while pinpointing areas for improvement.
• Identify and propel continuous improvement initiatives within repair operations, utilizing data analysis and lean methodologies.
• Leverage data and analytics to uncover systemic issues, propose solutions, and execute corrective action plans.
• Advocate for engineering-driven optimization throughout repair processes and materials flow.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Industrial), Supply Chain Management, or a related technical discipline.
• Over 10 years of experience in product, manufacturing, or process engineering within high-tech, telecom, networking, or complex electronics sectors.
• Proven history of successfully managing intricate projects and driving operational enhancements.
• Demonstrated capability to lead complex engineering projects from conception to execution.
• Strong grasp of repair processes, logistics, and quality control methodologies.
• Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
• Practical knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and serviceability principles.
• Hands-on experience in process optimization, Lean, Six Sigma, or 8D problem-solving techniques.
• Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across global, cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to repair depots, manufacturing sites, or supplier locations as necessary.
