This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Indonesia.
• Act as the main regional advisor and primary point of contact for the FSC International ADR & Remedy Team, serving FSC APAC regional and network personnel, remedy clients, partners, NGOs, and other external stakeholders.
• Function as the case manager for both potential and active remedy cases within the region, facilitating the onboarding of new cases and supervising the execution of the FSC Remedy Framework.
• Offer expert advice on grievance management, informal dispute resolution, and adherence to the Remedy Framework.
• Create, modify, and implement FSC tools, methodologies, and guidance documents, including frameworks for free, prior, and informed consent (FPIC) and capacity building.
• Enhance the APAC remedy ecosystem by identifying, onboarding, training, monitoring, ensuring quality control, and developing the capacity of Independent Assessors and Third-Party Verifiers, in accordance with established standard operating procedures and input for the creation of additional protocols as necessary.
• Represent FSC International at regional meetings, conferences, and stakeholder forums, while bolstering the credibility and visibility of the Remedy Framework.
• Provide culturally and linguistically relevant guidance throughout APAC, including stakeholder communication in Bahasa Indonesia, customizing localized educational materials, and establishing organized communication channels.
• A university degree or equivalent experience in law, environmental governance, dispute resolution, human or environmental rights, international relations, or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
• Additional language skills in Japanese, Malay, Vietnamese, and/or Mandarin Chinese are advantageous.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in project management within multi-stakeholder environments.
• Proven experience in tropical forestry concessions, customary tenure rights, and social forestry.
• Knowledge of mediation, conflict resolution, and dialogue strategies.
• Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity to the diverse values, perspectives, and approaches to issues pertinent to the FSC program among stakeholders in APAC and globally.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to independently manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
