This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Prepare and distribute patient records to authorized individuals while ensuring confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
• Manage incoming calls and inquiries from various departments, patients, and third parties.
• Record requests within the EHR system.
• Address requests through phone, email, or fax.
• Confirm the identity and authority of recipients.
• Organize records according to the specifications of the request.
• Review released information for compliance with applicable laws and policies.
• Uphold confidentiality at all times.
• Stay informed about relevant laws and regulations.
• Assist in the training of new personnel.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives.
• Conduct audits to ensure the accuracy of information.
• Update data systems as necessary.
• Collaborate with staff to reconcile reports.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• High School diploma or equivalent qualification.
• At least 2 years of experience in data-related roles.
• Experience in healthcare or release-of-information fields.
• Understanding of HIPAA and state regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong skills in data preparation.
• Excellent data entry capabilities.
• Outstanding time management skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Availability to work Tuesday through Saturday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM PST or Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM PST.
