This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee, coordinate, and manage releases across data and Business Intelligence (BI) teams.
• Maintain the release schedule and communicate timelines to all stakeholders.
• Monitor release preparedness, manage dependencies, and drive go/no-go decisions.
• Coordinate deployments across Development, Quality Assurance, User Acceptance Testing, and Production environments.
• Develop and sustain Release Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), runbooks, deployment checklists, and rollback strategies.
• Establish and uphold documentation standards for data releases, pipelines, and BI reports.
• Create process guidelines for change management, version control, and release approvals.
• Keep release notes and post-deployment summaries updated for stakeholders.
• Serve as the main connection between engineering/delivery teams and Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 support.
• Facilitate knowledge transfer to support teams prior to each release.
• Ensure that support runbooks and escalation procedures are updated for every release.
• Track and prioritize post-release incidents and coordinate resolutions with the appropriate support tier.
• Engage in sprint planning, retrospectives, and release evaluations.
• Maintain release backlogs and monitor items throughout the Agile delivery cycle.
• Identify and address release risks; proactively escalate any blockers.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related engineering field.
• 3–6 years of experience in release management or a role focused on delivery/coordination.
• Practical experience managing data or BI releases (including migrations, ETL, pipelines, and reports).
• Demonstrated capability to produce clear SOPs, process guides, runbooks, and technical documentation.
• Experience collaborating with Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 support teams within a structured IT Service Management (ITSM) environment.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies — including ceremonies, sprint rhythms, and release trains.
• Familiarity with data modernization concepts such as cloud migration, data warehousing, and BI platforms.
• Excellent communication skills — able to convey technical details in a way that is understandable to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficient in JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow, or similar tools.
• Good to Have: Experience in the insurance domain, exposure to USCIS or government data programs and compliance requirements, familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS and Snowflake, knowledge of BI tools such as Tableau and Power BI, familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps release practices, ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent, and experience in managed services or outsourced delivery models.
