Regulatory Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Turkey.

📋 Description

• Provide guidance on regulatory perimeter evaluations, licensing and registration submissions, product compliance, regulatory inquiries, advertising, and consumer protection issues specific to Turkey’s financial and cryptocurrency regulatory landscape.

• Assist local and international business teams with product launches, marketing initiatives, and promotional efforts by offering legal and regulatory advice, drafting product terms, and ensuring adherence to Turkish regulatory standards.

• Cultivate robust working relationships with internal stakeholders through efficient contract management, budget oversight, and timely legal counsel.

• Stay updated on the latest changes in Turkish laws and regulations impacting the cryptocurrency, FinTech, and blockchain sectors, offering strategic and forward-thinking advice to enhance compliance and reduce risks.

• Anticipate legal and regulatory hurdles and suggest practical solutions to align with business goals.

• Work closely with legal teams across different time zones to deliver uninterrupted legal support.

• Oversee relationships with external legal advisors and regulatory bodies in Turkey.

• Represent the company in legal proceedings or regulatory issues in Turkey when necessary, protecting the company’s interests.

⛳️ Requirements

• Legally qualified to practice in Turkey.

• 5-10 years of post-qualification experience, ideally focused on financial services, FinTech, cryptocurrency, or blockchain industries.

• Law degree from a recognized university; advanced degrees (e.g., Master’s in Financial or Technology Law) are advantageous.

• Experience in a prestigious law firm or in-house legal department with exposure to Turkish financial regulatory authorities.

• Comprehensive understanding of Turkish financial, cryptocurrency, and consumer protection regulations.

• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and pragmatically in a dynamic, global environment.

• Exceptional project management skills and the capability to collaborate with cross-functional teams across various locations and cultures.

• Strong time management skills to juggle multiple priorities and meet stringent deadlines.

• Enthusiastic about FinTech innovation and the adoption of cryptocurrency in Turkey.
