This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +29 more states.
• Monitor the condition of patients and evaluate their needs to ensure optimal care and clinical outcomes.
• Observe and analyze patient symptoms, recognize acute changes, and effectively communicate any updates or progress to the physician team.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to establish care goals and create personalized care plans for patients and their families.
• Educate patients on routine care procedures (such as blood pressure measurements and injection administration) while adhering to NorthStar Care's timely EMR (Electronic Medical Records) documentation standards. Inform patients about various medications, their side effects, and administration techniques. The nurse must possess strong communication skills and act as a liaison between the patient and the medical team.
• Provide treatment adjustments in accordance with physician orders.
• Supervise and mentor LPNs and nursing assistants.
• Cultivate a supportive and compassionate atmosphere for patients and their families.
• Enhance knowledge and skills by participating in educational workshops, conferences, etc.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) and VP of Clinical Operations.
• EDUCATION – Bachelor’s degree preferred; Graduate of an accredited nursing school, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• EXPERIENCE – Profound understanding of nursing care methods and procedures.
• PRODUCTIVITY TOOLS – Strong knowledge of essential productivity tools such as Microsoft O365 (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.) or similar alternatives.
• VIDEO CONFERENCING – Experience with administering, optimizing, and/or licensing video conferencing tools like Microsoft Teams, Zoom, GoToMeeting, Webex, or similar platforms.
• MESSAGING PLATFORMS – Experience with administering, optimizing, and/or licensing messaging platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Webex Teams, Slack, or similar tools.
• ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORDS (EMR) – Familiarity with EMR systems and documentation requirements to support clinicians, nurses, navigators, and peer guides in workflow and documentation best practices.
• VALID NURSING LICENSE – An active and in good standing nursing license is required.
• ADDITIONAL – Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
