This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.
• Enhance the distribution of product lines.
• Oversees the relationships with brokers to boost the distribution of product lines.
• Trains and supervises the sales activities of broker representatives to ensure uniformity in product sales.
• Organizes regional sales strategies and assists in the development of sales proposals, presentations, and calls.
• Delivers sales training to brokers regarding both new and existing products for effective sales presentations.
• Guides the broker team by attending meetings and collaborating within the market to promote company initiatives in-store.
• Maintain and grow sales.
• Engages directly with customers and key decision-makers to sustain and enhance sales of Smithfield products.
• Creates and delivers formal presentations and/or proposals.
• Provides samples and may demonstrate the usage of specific items as part of the sales process.
• Identifies and drives the execution of key programs tailored to the region's needs and requirements (such as sales incentives and account-specific marketing programs).
• Implement sales plans.
• Executes and implements Smithfield sales strategies to promote product lines.
• Adapts plans to align with local and regional marketing cultures.
• Assists sales teams and brokers in creating and executing product sales promotions.
• Utilizes syndicated data and all available resources to drive sales strategies.
• Achieve sales objectives.
• Maintains coordination with essential company functions to ensure sales goals are accomplished.
• Fosters a positive employee experience through leadership, focusing on employee development and coaching.
• A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 5+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• A minimum of 2+ years of proven experience in team management/development or project leadership is required.
• Must possess an understanding of the dynamics within the Consumer Packaged Goods industry.
• Must have a solid grasp of customer-focused and fact-based selling, including familiarity with IRI, Nielsen, and Perishable Group data.
• Knowledge of product cuttings and comfort with product attributes is essential.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• High proficiency in written and verbal communication skills, organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning, and adaptability.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Must be respectful, approachable, and team-oriented while cultivating strong working relationships and a positive work atmosphere.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Must be willing and able to travel at least 50% of the time.
