Regional Medical Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Supervise, train, mentor, and coach Market Medical Directors within the assigned geographic pod.

• Assume supervisory duties and maintain ultimate accountability for the clinical and financial performance of the pod.

• Conduct regular meetings with Market Medical Directors to address practice challenges and offer strategic support.

• Provide guidance on CMS regulatory and compliance matters, as well as ACO contractual obligations.

• Evaluate key performance indicators and clinical utilization metrics.

• Ensure productivity goals are met for practice meetings, pod gatherings, and internal tasks.

• Identify ways to enhance practice workflows, healthcare utilization, and the accuracy of clinical documentation.

• Analyze data trends and execute regional performance improvement initiatives.

• Ensure compliance of ACO practices with Vytal Signs gates, EMR access and integration, Vytalize VBC tools, and clinical programs.

• Collaborate with Regional Vice Presidents, Practice Transformation Managers, Risk & Quality Teams, and Product & Tech Teams.

• Evaluate opportunities within ACO practices to enhance healthcare delivery.

• Support the value-based clinical strategy and prioritize organization-wide initiatives.

• Provide clinical oversight for ongoing initiatives and develop strategies that align with healthcare models and provider needs.

• Share best practices across pods through provider collaboration and knowledge-sharing sessions.

• Create and promote initiatives that allow Market Medical Directors to concentrate on direct physician engagement.

• Present clinically to practices either virtually or in person to reinforce principles of value-based care and engage PCPs.

• Work together with Central and Market Medical Directors to disseminate successes and refine strategies.

• Participate in ACO leadership meetings and Vytalize Physician Advisory Council gatherings.


⛳️ Requirements

• MD or DO medical degree required.

• Must possess an active medical license and board certification.

• A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience is necessary.

• At least 2 years in a leadership position within an ACO or similar healthcare organization.

• Board certification in a primary care specialty is preferred, such as primary care, family medicine, internal medicine, geriatric medicine, internal medicine/pediatrics, or pediatrics.

• Strong analytical capabilities are essential.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are required.

• Must possess the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting is necessary.

• A comprehensive understanding of value-based care is required.

• Knowledge of healthcare cost management and utilization review processes is essential.

• Ability to be based in the West Coast region, specifically within the Pacific or Mountain time zone.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States or specify if sponsorship is needed.
