This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +13 more states.
• Provide leadership and direction to the Field Medical Team (MSL Managers), ensuring the successful establishment of a Field Medical organization within the designated region or medical unit.
• Propel the execution of Field Medical Intelligence and insights, facilitating cross-functional communication, development of engagement strategies, and their implementation.
• Assist in achieving excellence in Field Medical launches and oversee all associated launch activities.
• Enhance and develop regional/CPO Field Medical capabilities, focusing on onboarding, development of soft skills, and coaching excellence.
• Organize, coordinate, and deliver training for MSLs and MSL Managers in partnership with Global FME and Global Medical Affairs Franchise teams, ensuring the local application of training programs and individual development plans.
• Modify and utilize therapeutic medical resources for external use by MSLs.
• Create and maintain regional deployment maps for all brands, align on standardized FME/CPO KPIs, ensure tracking, and provide regular updates on deployment, KPIs, and insights to regional/country and global medical leadership.
• Offer coaching and talent development for direct reports; ensure timely and compliant reporting of technical complaints, adverse events, and special cases within 24 hours, and manage the distribution of marketing samples where applicable.
• A graduate degree in science or healthcare is required; a doctoral degree is preferred (MD, PhD, DNP, PharmD, etc.).
• At least 7 years of experience in a Field Medical-related role within the pharmaceutical industry or as an MSL is preferred, or a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in medical affairs, clinical research, or a related scientific or clinical environment is required.
• Strong clinical expertise, including pharmacotherapy, treatment guidelines, clinical research methodologies, medical expert engagement strategies, and knowledge of FDA promotional guidelines, regulations, and ethical standards applicable to the pharmaceutical sector is essential.
• Proven track record of making organizational or enterprise-level impacts through strategic thinking, functioning within a matrix organization, and leading collaborative teams in a Field Medical context is required.
