Regional Compensation and Benefits Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.

📋 Description

• Assist in the development, enhancement, and implementation of compensation philosophy, along with benefits harmonization programs, policies, and procedures.

• Engage in proactive market research and provide analytical insights to inform design discussions.

• Propose improvements based on emerging global and regional trends, regulatory requirements, and benchmarking insights.

• Support the global compensation team in managing base compensation, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, and recognition programs.

• Aid in the annual compensation cycles, including merit, bonus, and equity planning activities.

• Generate reports, analytics, dashboards, models, and presentations.

• Collaborate with various internal key stakeholders on job evaluations, salary range placements, offer construction, and internal equity analysis.

• Ensure compliance of compensation programs with local employment laws, statutory requirements, and internal governance standards.

• Assist with audits and documentation related to compensation programs.

• Conduct compensation benchmarking through regional market surveys to maintain competitive salary ranges and job structures.

• Track market trends, pay transparency, equal pay, and other regulatory changes in EMEA and APAC, assessing their impact on compensation practices.

• Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to the leadership team.

• Coordinate with payroll vendors on system management, ensuring timely and accurate processing and payments.

• Oversee off-cycle payments, probation confirmations, part-time/term contract statuses, and update payroll and relevant teams accordingly.

• Prepare reports, including monthly local and global headcount reports and turnover reports for management review.

• Ensure data accuracy and compliance in HRIS and employee records.

• Foster a positive work environment through employee initiatives to enhance the overall employee experience.

• Assist with required reports, ad-hoc reports, organization chart updates, and requests.

• Handle statutory reporting and collaborate with external vendors/government bodies when necessary.

• Conduct payroll reconciliation to ensure proper cost center allocations and cost distributions.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field.

• At least 5 years of experience in managing compensation and/or benefits programs; experience in multi-region benefits is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with the Deel platform is a plus.

• Knowledge of compensation and benefits regulations and compliance requirements across APAC and EMEA.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience in using benchmarking data and compensation/benefits analytics.

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder-management skills; capable of simplifying complex Total Rewards concepts.

• High integrity and ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
