This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• The Start-up Technician serves as the main field service technician focused on new system start-up tasks.
• Design and execute the commissioning activities for new systems.
• Promote best practices within the service department and enhance the utilization of business tools (Field Software, ERP, etc.).
• Report to the Service Manager at the Fairless Hills Headquarters.
• Requires up to 100% travel.
• Act as the primary point of contact and liaison with the project management team regarding field commissioning matters.
• Establish best practices/templates for commissioning programs and offer training/mentoring to apprentices within the department.
• Oversee dependencies across various interconnected projects, developing and driving key milestones in collaboration with the Project Management and Service teams.
• Create and present daily site reports and work order details to the project management and service operations teams.
• Prepare and share start-up reports with leadership and key stakeholders for scope/work assessments, cost analyses, and contract evaluations.
• Provide comprehensive commissioning staffing for field service and technical support roles within the organization.
• Support project management team members in achieving operational goals and objectives.
• Ensure that policies, practices, and procedures are comprehended and adhered to by Kelvin employees, subcontractors, customers, and all stakeholders.
• Over 10 years of experience in field service and project start-up roles with industrial refrigeration clients.
• A technical degree or equivalent experience in industrial/technical support for refrigeration equipment.
• Advanced education in RETA certifications 1 through 4 and IR 1-19/ CR 1-20 modules.
• Advanced OEM training for equipment start-up and servicing.
• Capable of efficiently and accurately providing field support to a multi-location service and project team.
• Ability to support and enhance team site performance to achieve organizational goals and project outcomes.
• Experienced in driving process improvements across multiple locations and remote teams.
• Proficient in multitasking and performing under pressure.
• Self-driven and highly organized.
• Must be able to work autonomously and develop start-up processes to ensure timelines are met.
• Willingness to travel extensively (90%) throughout the United States for extended durations.
• Includes driving and flying with overnight hotel stays.
• Computer literate, with knowledge of Field Software, MS Office, and the ability to quickly learn new software.
