This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
• Perform quality assurance audits on medical records and ICD‑9/10 diagnosis codes submitted to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) along with other governmental entities.
• Gather medical records and conduct research to verify the accuracy of member information while obtaining provider signatures.
• Upload confirmed documents to the Cotiviti centralized repository within a 24-hour timeframe.
• Adhere to state and federal regulations as well as internal policies and guidelines during the retrieval of medical records.
• Manage workload independently while adhering to defined service level expectations.
• Travel up to 60% of the time to provider offices to retrieve, review, and validate medical records on-site.
• At least 1 year of experience in customer service.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience with medical records.
• Daily use of Microsoft Teams and Outlook to coordinate meetings, manage calendars, and communicate with supervisors and colleagues.
• Experience managing a high volume of tasks, following up, and maintaining a high standard of professional conduct.
• Ability to articulate information clearly to both internal peers and external partners.
• Knowledge or experience in a healthcare environment or managed care (such as provider office, billing, coding, release of information, etc.).
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license and are required to maintain personal vehicle liability insurance.
