Reconciliation Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +18 more states.

📋 Description

• Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines regarding all client-related information.

• Reconcile electronically posted payments received from the clearinghouse.

• Process manual payments across various billing platforms including Rethink, Tebra, and Azalea.

• Analyze and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and Electronic Remittance Advices (ERAs).

• Enter payments sourced from insurance portals.

• Enroll in ERAs when feasible to minimize the volume of manual postings and oversee the progress of enrollment requests.

• Relay identified trends during posting to the Customer Billing Advocate (CBA) and Accounts Receivable (AR) teams for clients.

• Recognize underpayments and overpayments while ensuring effective communication among POD members (CBA & AR Team) for resolution.

• Assess and track key performance metrics related to work efficiency.

• Review and interpret payer contracts when necessary.

• Cultivate a supportive and positive work atmosphere for colleagues.

• Participate in special projects as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.

• At least 1-2 years of experience in payment posting.

• Experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

• Familiarity with insurance company websites and portals.

• Willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and an enjoyment of challenges.

• Professional communication skills over the phone.

• This role demands exceptional attention to detail, critical thinking abilities, and excellent communication skills with internal teams and insurance providers.

• Preferred experience in Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy (OT), and Mental Health.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in an office environment.

• At least 1 year of experience in billing for both major commercial insurance companies and state Medicaid programs.

• Proficient in using Billing Software (Azalea, Kareo), Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems (Rethink), and Clearinghouse platforms (Waystar, Trizetto, Availity).

• Competent in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) and Google Docs/Sheets.
