Recertification Claims Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Evaluate claims that have been approved due to changes in definitions; ensure no claims are pending

• Engage with claimants, employers, and a variety of medical professionals via phone and email to collect information related to Long Term Disability Claims and relevant state and federal benefits

• Work collaboratively with other case managers, nurse case managers, vocational case managers, and consulting physicians to ensure ethical, timely, and appropriate claim decisions

• Analyze intricate medical records and utilize available tools and resources to determine suitable approval durations and plan future actions throughout the claim's lifecycle

• Deliver outstanding customer service and proactively identify customer needs and potential areas for improvement

• Complete a comprehensive training program to enhance your skill set

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or GED, or a minimum of an Associate degree in place of required experience

• 3-5 years of experience in long term disability claims that align directly with the responsibilities of this position, or, for candidates holding an Associate degree, 0-1 year of relevant claims experience

• Strong proficiency in both written and verbal communication

• Exceptional organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Experience in disability and/or absence management is considered a plus
