R&D Tax Credit Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Execute fieldwork related to consulting initiatives.

• Fieldwork may involve visiting client premises, touring client facilities, conducting and leading client discussions, investigating pertinent details, analyzing accounting data, preparing cost lead schedules and cost summary reports, performing necessary tax calculations, and drafting written reports that summarize the findings.

• Support the acquisition of new business opportunities.

• Carry out research both in a general context and tailored to specific clients.

• Review and study relevant tax literature associated with the specific industry.

• Oversee multiple project assignments simultaneously.

• Initiate internal communications regarding task progress, relevant technical issues identified, workload status, and anticipated deadlines.

• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

• Fundamental understanding of income tax principles.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.

• Strong grasp of basic tax concepts.

• Availability to work extra hours as needed and travel to various client locations.

• Bachelor's degree.

• At least one year of experience related to conducting research credit studies.
