This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.
• Collaborate with bio and life science organizations to tackle intricate challenges using data.
• Engage in projects ranging from drug discovery to clinical trials that make a significant impact.
• Work alongside teams to implement R/Shiny solutions that facilitate scientific and clinical decision-making.
• Design, develop, and enhance data-driven applications utilized globally.
• Proficient in R programming.
• Skilled in processing, analyzing, and visualizing biological data, particularly clinical data.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
• Experience in creating web applications or websites using R/Shiny or JavaScript.
• Proficiency in developing and maintaining R packages.
• Background in requirements gathering and backlog management.
• Master’s degree in bioinformatics or a related field (e.g., computer science, data science, biostatistics, mathematics) or equivalent professional experience.
• Possess a valid passport (if based outside of Poland) or ID (if based in Poland).
• Must reside in EMEA or LATAM regions.
• Experience with designing and maintaining reproducible data processing pipelines (e.g., Nextflow) is appreciated.
• Familiarity with applying data science methodologies (data engineering, machine learning) to business challenges is appreciated.
• Understanding of core concepts in molecular biology and bioinformatics is appreciated.
• Experience utilizing bioinformatics tools and databases (e.g., Bioconductor, BLAST, NCBI, EMBL, PDB, PubMed) is appreciated.
• Ability to leverage advanced JavaScript for creating visually impressive applications is appreciated.
• Knowledge of advanced Shiny mechanisms (e.g., bindings, registering DataObj, performance optimization, promises, single-threading) and effective practical application is appreciated.
• Experience in cloud computing environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) is appreciated.
• Familiarity with database management systems like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB is appreciated.
• Experience collaborating with scientists and clinical researchers is appreciated.
