This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of our CI/CD systems from start to finish: evaluate the current state, redesign as necessary, and implement measurable enhancements in pipeline reliability, build/test cycle duration, and overall developer experience within the first six months.
• Spearhead the adoption of standardized Quality Engineering (QE) practices and testing frameworks across engineering teams, minimizing inconsistencies in coverage and creating a unified standard for quality throughout the organization within your first year.
• Propel the automation of QE processes using AI-powered tools (such as Claude, Codex, or Cursor), boosting development speed while upholding strict standards.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 1–3 Quality Engineers: facilitating their technical advancement, career progression, and daily effectiveness, with the aim of visibly enhancing team velocity and lowering defect escape rates.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering and Product teams to integrate quality earlier in the development lifecycle, fostering a culture that prioritizes defect prevention over defect detection.
• Create structured knowledge-sharing and process documentation that allows the team to amplify its impact beyond its current size.
• Proven experience in owning and managing CI/CD systems at scale using tools like CircleCI, GitHub Actions, or similar, including direct involvement in redesigning pipelines for reliability and efficiency.
• Extensive expertise in CI/CD tooling and infrastructure, with the capability to independently assess, modernize, and expand systems to accommodate evolving engineering requirements.
• Strong command of test automation frameworks (such as Playwright, Selenium, or similar) along with a clear and defensible approach to test strategy and coverage.
• Solid background in Quality Engineering or Software Development in Test (SDET), encompassing experience in designing and implementing test automation frameworks from the ground up.
• Proven application of AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude, Codex, Cursor) to automate testing practices and enhance engineering workflows.
• Exceptional cross-functional communication and collaboration abilities; comfortable working as both an individual contributor and in a leadership capacity as the advocate for quality across engineering.
• Previous experience leading or mentoring a small engineering team, even informally.
