• Perform quality control audits; assess loans using the system of record and all pertinent documentation; ensure adherence to federal, state, investor, and/or client guidelines promptly.
• Execute sustainability assessments and compliance evaluations. Analyze findings to detect gaps and collaborate with various departments for resolutions. Provide monthly summaries and reports to management.
• Establish and sustain open communication channels with different departments and management levels within the organization, serving as a point of contact for both internal and external resources.
• Investigate issues and inquiries using all available resources, including ALLRegs, Agency/Investor directives such as Handbooks, internal policies and procedures, and consultations with subject matter experts, law firms, county offices, and supporting vendors to gather necessary information for resolution.
• Report systemic challenges and process deficiencies. Monitor, address, and ensure suitable actions are taken to document findings in the appropriate system, providing a detailed explanation of the issue and its resolution.
• Create and/or revise quality control guidelines and documentation as needed to align with updates to internal policies and procedures, as well as federal, state, investor, and/or client guidelines.
• Support management in conducting quality reviews for junior team members, preparing reports, and special projects. Under supervision, assist with the execution of departmental projects or initiatives and participate in department meetings and project planning sessions, addressing issues and escalations as required.
• Keep track of regulatory updates as published to assess their impact on Quality Control and suggest necessary process and questionnaire updates. Review monthly questionnaire adjustments and recommend implementation strategies.
• Aid the Quality Control team’s cross-training efforts to ensure sufficient coverage for all functions.
• Undertake any additional duties as assigned.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
• 2-4 years of experience in quality control within Mortgage Servicing or Mortgage Banking.
• Familiarity with state and federal laws and regulations relevant to mortgage and consumer lending.
• Exceptional verbal and written comprehension and communication abilities are essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Capability to collaborate within a team environment alongside peers, company managers, and clients to achieve shared objectives.
• Strong attention to detail and outstanding problem-solving/problem analysis skills.
• Ability to comprehend legal terms and conditions and their relevance to work processes.
• Competence in reading, interpreting, and analyzing accounts and records of a complex, detailed, and recurring nature.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal guidance and effectively meet deadlines.
