Quality Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Designing, developing, and maintaining moderately complex automated test scripts to ensure the functionality of software applications.

• Executing moderately complex automated test cases and documenting outcomes.

• Independently identifying, documenting, and tracking software defects to resolution using defect tracking tools like JIRA.

• Providing comprehensive documentation for test cases, test outcomes, and defects.

• Collaborating with the software engineering team to thoroughly understand application functionality and testing requirements.

• Maintaining and updating existing automated test scripts that are moderately complex.

• Ensuring that automated tests reflect the latest application changes and enhancements.

• Adhering to automation best practices and making recommendations for improvements.

• Offering guidance to junior automation quality engineers.


⛳️ Requirements

• 2-4 years of overall testing experience, including 1-2 years in automation testing or equivalent training in automation.

• Required proficiency in the Java programming language (Core concepts).

• A strong understanding of requirement analysis is essential.

• Must have extensive experience with automation testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Karate, JUnit, TestNG) along with debugging skills.

• Required experience in using version control systems (e.g., Git).

• Knowledge of BDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber) is necessary.

• Familiarity with SQL and database testing is required.

• Experience in UI/API functional testing is essential.

• Required experience in using JIRA and ZE management tools.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are required, including the capacity to analyze test results and identify issues.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.

• Desired skills in design and estimation techniques.

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities are preferred.

• Good knowledge of continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins) is a plus.

• A willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies is desirable.
