This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee and manage production metrics for the team, ensuring an effective balance of workloads so that QA Auditors can meet deadlines.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, agency, and investor Quality Control guidelines and requirements.
• Provide guidance and coaching to QA Team Leads and Auditors regarding issues that pose higher risks or fall outside their responsibility scope.
• Detect and report potential fraud issues.
• Assist with auditing loans when additional resources are required due to high volumes.
• Foster a departmental culture that values teamwork and aligns with Company values, promoting positive, professional relationships based on mutual respect.
• Stay updated on changes in industry regulations and propose updates to internal policies, procedures, and systems to incorporate new or revised requirements.
• Offer training and support to employees concerning disclosures, the use of internal Company systems, and QA logistics and procedures.
• Coach team members and hold them accountable for the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of files, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and quality assurance requirements.
• Monitor loan deficiencies, conduct analyses, report trends, and review month-end reporting to suggest action plans that address current trends.
• Prepare various analyses for specific areas; work collaboratively with QA staff to compile necessary data and communicate findings and recommendations to the QA Director.
• Advocate for quality achievement and performance enhancement across the department.
• Prepare and review regular and ad-hoc reports pertinent to the functional area of expertise.
• Assist in evaluating and managing control processes.
• Ensure that departmental policies and procedures remain current.
• Propose improvements to processes and procedures that enhance operations, supporting ongoing process improvement initiatives to ensure Quality Assurance utilizes appropriate resources.
• Manage systems utilized throughout the department.
• Support during audits/exams and meetings/calls with investors/insurers.
• Basic familiarity with AI tools.
• Aid the QA Director in managing external vendors by monitoring and reporting on quality, issues, and updates.
• Assist the QA Director with various projects, investigations, and department initiatives.
• Bachelor’s Degree directly related to the position or equivalent, required.
• At least four years of experience in Mortgage Quality Assurance/Quality Control roles, with two of those years in a lead or supervisory position.
• A minimum of two years of supervisory or leadership experience.
• Capability to organize and manage multiple priorities concurrently.
• Advanced knowledge and experience in mortgage quality control requirements and investor guidelines (FNMA, FHLMC, VA, FHA, USDA).
• Experience with Reverse, Non-QM, and TPO mortgage quality control is an advantage.
• Manage various priorities, deadlines, and team projects in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating a strong sense of urgency and responsiveness.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
• Ability to be patient, respond to inquiries, train, and develop the skills of less experienced team members.
• Proficient in PDF/Adobe programs and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with the ACES audit system is a plus.
• Advanced mathematical skills and income calculation abilities.
• Exhibit sound judgment.
• Able to work in a deadline-driven environment to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks by direct reports.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented; ability to thrive in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Wiki, collaborative cloud-based programs, and third-party software applications is required.
