Quality Assurance Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Share the responsibility for ensuring the quality of projects in alignment with business needs and design specifications.

• Collaborate effectively with QA team members, developers, designers, project managers, and stakeholders to meet project goals.

• Analyze project requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and tickets to guarantee comprehensive test coverage.

• Identify any missing, unclear, or conflicting requirements and actively seek clarifications.

• Recognize, communicate, and escalate risks, issues, and potential obstacles to the project.

• Design, develop, and maintain test plans, test cases, test scripts, traceability matrices, and QA documentation.

• Conduct Functional Testing, Smoke Testing, Regression Testing, Exploratory Testing, and Non-Functional Testing activities.

• Perform API testing and validate system integrations as needed.

• Engage in both manual testing efforts and QA automation initiatives.

• Create, track, prioritize, and manage defects until resolution using Jira or similar tools.

• Communicate testing progress, quality metrics, project status, and risks to stakeholders.

• Implement industry-standard QA methodologies, testing strategies, and best practices.

• Assist in regression testing cycles for product releases and updates.

• Help with QA estimation, planning, and test execution tasks.

• Support onboarding, documentation, and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the QA team.

• Continuously enhance knowledge of automation tools, accessibility testing, security testing, and emerging QA practices.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, ideally within creative or digital agencies in fast-paced environments.

• Practical experience in performing: Functional Testing, Smoke Testing, Regression Testing, Exploratory Testing, and API Testing.

• Familiarity with software testing methodologies, test design techniques, and QA best practices.

• Understanding of test automation concepts, frameworks, and industry standards.

• Proficiency in creating and maintaining test plans, test cases, test scripts, and QA documentation.

• Strong skills in defect management, including tracking, reporting, and validating fixes throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Experience working in Agile development environments.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with developers, project managers, designers, and business stakeholders.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a keen attention to detail.

• Ability to identify, communicate, and escalate risks appropriately.

• A strong ownership mindset, accountability, and dedication to quality.

• Familiarity with task management and defect tracking tools such as Clickup, Jira, or similar platforms.

• Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS).

• Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) is highly desirable.

• Experience working with distributed, local, and offshore teams.

• English proficiency at B2 level or above.
