This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Conduct daily evaluations of a selection of mortgage applications both before and after funding.
• Analyze file data, financial documents, client details, broker and insurer submissions, as well as legal documentation.
• Detect unusual activities, suspicious transactions, and potentially fraudulent documents.
• Carry out initial investigations and take appropriate actions on flagged files.
• Generate quality assurance reports detailing findings and recommendations.
• Perform additional analyses as requested by Risk Management or QA teams.
• Assist with audits involving partners, investors, and insurers until issues are resolved.
• Oversee, regularly monitor, and review approved lists and AML/KYC lists.
• Conduct timely, efficient, and objective QA/QC reviews.
• Offer guidance and recommendations to underwriters and stakeholders regarding credit risks, loss mitigation, flood/property risks, and training opportunities.
• Review mortgage applications for compliance with nesto policies, underwriting standards, and regulations, both pre- and post-funding.
• Aid in audits and communicate findings effectively to management and underwriting teams.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in mortgage approval or adjudication.
• Experience within the mortgage broker channel is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, SharePoint).
• Proficient in Google Workspace tools (Drive, Sheets, Docs).
• Familiar with CRM and workflow tools, including Salesforce.
• Strong knowledge of internal and external insurer guidelines.
• Understanding of fraud indicators, detection strategies, and prevention techniques.
• Possess an analytical mindset coupled with strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Skilled in managing and prioritizing urgent requests.
• Willing to make difficult recommendations when necessary.
• Bilingual fluency in French and English is preferred.
• Ability to communicate findings effectively to management and underwriting teams.
