This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.
• Oversee and lead the Quality Control team on-site to guarantee the successful implementation of all quality-related tasks.
• Ensure that Quality Assurance and Quality Control standards are adhered to during project execution, in accordance with approved documentation and Jord’s procedures, including the Event Note System, Inspection Report Database, and Job Hub.
• Conduct workshop audits as instructed by the line manager and disseminate audit reports through the Audit Report Database.
• Execute supplier technical audits and evaluations, while developing and maintaining a pre-qualification database (Job Hub) to assess process capabilities and ensure that the supplier quality system aligns with established international standards.
• Identify critical inspection points and conduct risk assessments for project components, preparing MR ITPs during the bidding and ordering phase, outlining inspection controls and devising mitigation strategies to achieve a favorable cost/benefit ratio.
• Collaborate with Project Managers during contract reviews and conflict resolution at the project's inception, reviewing technical deliverables, preparing project quality plans, and addressing other quality necessities to ensure compliance with project execution.
• Manage technical inquiries related to materials, welding, and quality issues on-site in consultation with the JI QA Engineer / Line Manager.
• Attend kickoff meetings, pre-inspection sessions, and other gatherings for critical items and packages, coordinating quality control activities at supplier sites and liaising with third-party and client inspectors as necessary.
• Oversee receipt, in-process, and critical stage inspections at suppliers to ensure quality items are dispatched to the site.
• Ensure project schedule adherence by coordinating between Project Management and vendors to resolve operational challenges and keep project delivery on track.
• Maintain schedule compliance by identifying execution bottlenecks and promptly informing key stakeholders through the Inspection Report Database and/or Teams calls, while offering practical solutions to address identified shortcomings.
• Submit weekly inspection reports and Job Status reports in an approved format based on project needs via the inspection report database.
• Identify non-conformances, issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and monitor the execution of corrective actions.
• Verify the effective closure of NCRs and recommend areas for ongoing improvement.
• Conduct root cause analysis and capture lessons learned for implementation in future projects to prevent recurrence of quality issues and associated failures.
• Perform failure analysis in collaboration with external parties.
• Comply with all Jord company policies and IMS requirements.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field.
• At least 15 years of shop experience in pressure vessels in accordance with ASME Sec VIII/ Sec IX / Sec V/ API Standards / AS codes, preferably having worked with Air Cooled Condenser (ACC) / SKID Fabrication / Module / Piping.
• Strong understanding of quality assurance and quality control methods, along with manufacturing and inspection practices.
• Experience and knowledge of manufacturing processes and product characteristics, including foundry, fabrication, machining, welding, NDE, heat treatment, painting, and coating activities.
• Familiarity with inspection, testing, and measurement techniques.
• Proficient in interpreting codes, standards, policy guidelines, and client specifications, applying them during project execution.
• A team player with experience in building and managing a skilled professional team.
