QA Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Design and enhance automation frameworks for web applications, APIs (REST and GraphQL), integration and event-driven workflows, as well as mobile web platforms.

• Construct and refine automated regression, smoke, integration, and end-to-end testing capabilities.

• Incorporate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or Buildkite.

• Establish quality gates, reporting mechanisms, and release validation procedures.

• Collaborate with Platform and DevOps teams to enhance test environments, observability, and developer workflows.

• Assist in modernizing legacy automation frameworks and enhancing test reliability.

• Propel AI innovation within Quality Engineering by pinpointing opportunities to utilize AI-assisted tooling, automation generation, intelligent test optimization, failure analysis, and developer productivity workflows.

• Collaborate with Engineering leadership to assess and implement cutting-edge AI-enabled testing solutions that boost release confidence, testing efficiency, and engineering velocity.

• Advocate for shift-left engineering practices through automation, reusable testing patterns, self-service tooling, and AI-assisted developer enablement.

• Investigate and introduce emerging quality engineering technologies, frameworks, and automation strategies that enhance testing capabilities throughout the organization.

• Lead and mentor QA engineers while maintaining a hands-on technical role.

• Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, DevOps, Release Engineering, and Security teams.

• Offer technical guidance on testing strategies, automation architecture, and quality best practices.

• Monitor and communicate quality metrics, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Software Testing, or Test Automation.

• More than 4 years of QA leadership or management experience.

• Robust hands-on automation engineering experience.

• Proven experience in building and scaling automation frameworks.

• Proficiency with tools such as Playwright.

• Experience in testing APIs, integrations, and distributed systems.

• Strong coding or scripting skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, or similar languages.

• Experience in integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines.

• Solid understanding of shift-left testing practices and modern SDLC workflows.

• Experience collaborating closely with Engineering and Product teams in Agile environments.

• Practical experience utilizing modern AI engineering tools and workflows, including ClaudeCode, AI skills frameworks, agents, and collaborative AI coworker models to enhance developer productivity, automation generation, test strategies, and quality engineering workflows.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence across teams.
