QA Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and implement automated systems that detect data quality problems, product defects, and regressions within our web application and data pipelines, thereby minimizing the need for manual detection.

• Develop scripts and tools to identify anomalies, inconsistencies, or failures within large datasets (for example, malformed records, absent relationships, unexpected distributions).

• Collaborate with product teams to prioritize identified issues based on their business impact and directly write or contribute code fixes rather than merely filing tickets.

• Establish and maintain automated test coverage (unit, integration, end-to-end) with an emphasis on high-risk areas and data-intensive workflows.

• Partner with engineering teams to assess data models, API contracts, and backend logic for accuracy and edge case handling.

• Implement quality metrics and create internal tools or dashboards to monitor data health and product reliability over time.

• Aid in release readiness by executing automated checks and highlighting risk areas with supporting data.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of engineering experience specializing in quality, data integrity, or test automation.

• Proficient in Python — capable of writing production-quality scripts, automation, and data analysis code.

• Experience with large datasets: querying, profiling, validating, and debugging data in SQL and NoSQL databases (Postgres/Elasticsearch preferred).

• A proven history of developing automated systems that uncover bugs or data issues, rather than just validating known behaviors.

• Ability to read, comprehend, and contribute fixes to a production codebase — this position involves coding, not just testing.

• Comfortable working autonomously and prioritizing a backlog of quality issues based on their impact.
