• Conduct manual testing to validate new features, fixes, and hotfixes across Web UI and APIs.
• Perform risk-based testing by defining the test scope based on financial or customer impact while identifying residual risks.
• Validate API and end-to-end processes by testing REST APIs, asynchronous flows, and webhooks using Postman, Newman, or similar tools.
• Execute data validation to verify state transitions and side effects in PostgreSQL, demonstrating an understanding of idempotency and retries.
• Take ownership of regression testing by maintaining and enhancing smoke and regression suites for critical payment pathways.
• Transform production incidents into new regression cases or monitoring checks.
• Collaborate effectively with engineers and PMs to clarify requirements, reproduce issues, and confirm fixes.
• Deliver concise QA notes for each release, including scope, results, risks, and follow-ups.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in QA with a solid foundation in manual testing.
• Proficient in API testing tools such as Postman, Newman, curl, and Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Practical knowledge of concepts including authentication versus capture, refunds, webhooks, idempotency, and retries.
• Basic SQL skills, specifically with PostgreSQL, enabling record validation, joins, and state transitions.
• Familiarity with logging and monitoring tools like Grafana, Kibana/ELK, Sentry, or similar platforms.
• Comfortable working in a Kanban environment with fast-changing requirements and no-sprint frameworks.
• Proficient in English, both written and spoken, for effective remote asynchronous communication.
• Nice to have: Experience with payment service providers (PSPs) such as Stripe, Adyen, PayPal, Braintree, Worldpay, etc.
• Nice to have: Knowledge of 3DS flows (frictionless versus challenge) and Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) constraints.
• Nice to have: Familiarity with test automation frameworks (e.g., pytest, Playwright) and continuous integration, with the ability to read and maintain existing checks being a plus.
• Nice to have: Understanding of network tokenization (DPAN/network tokens).
