QA Chapter Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kenya.

📋 Description

• Participate in all squad ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

• Collaborate with the Product Owner to establish acceptance criteria prior to each sprint.

• Develop and uphold automated test suites for your squad's domain, encompassing unit, integration, and end-to-end testing as required.

• Take ownership of the squad's Definition of Done quality gate.

• Define and uphold quality assurance standards for the function.

• Facilitate the onboarding process for new QA engineers within the chapter.

• Lead the monthly QA Guild meetings alongside the corresponding Chapter Lead from another engineering function.

• Manage the selection and advancement of the automation framework.

• Provide reports to the Head of Engineering regarding the health of the QA chapter.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of software QA experience, with at least 2 years in a Lead QA position where you influenced test strategies across multiple teams.

• Proficient automation engineering skills, demonstrating the ability to write test code that meets production standards.

• In-depth experience with API testing, including REST, contract testing, and integration test design.

• Proven track record in defining and maintaining QA standards within an Agile squad environment.

• Familiarity with Java-based backend systems.
