QA Automation Engineer – Co-op

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Create impactful test code: Develop automated test suites in Java that validate our core platform - genuine tests that identify real bugs.

• Test with system significance: Design tests based on actual failure scenarios - what occurs when an API times out? When data becomes corrupted? When systems fall out of sync?

• Engage with real integrations: Verify how data flows between systems, ensure APIs function correctly, and test the systems we develop for actual companies.

• Collaborate to enhance quality: Work alongside developers to understand what is being built, propose improvements for code testability, and participate in our quality approach.

• Gain knowledge from dedicated engineers: Senior engineers will guide you on how to consider quality, write enduring test code, and understand why testing influences superior product design.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

• Strong foundation in Java - experience from school projects is perfectly acceptable.

• Familiarity with testing frameworks such as JUnit, TestNG, or similar - school projects count as experience.

• Comfortable working with REST APIs.

• You instinctively consider edge cases - you’re the type of person who asks, "but what if it breaks?"

• Nice to have (but don’t let this deter you from applying): Experience with test automation frameworks (Selenium, RestAssured, similar).

• Experience with Spring or backend Java.

• Skills in JavaScript or scripting languages.

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience in API or contract testing.
