Python Technical Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Provide independent guidance on the technical direction and implementation for the entire team within the established architecture, spanning all phases from conceptualization to deployment.

• Assess trade-offs between accuracy, robustness, performance, and customer impact to guarantee the development of the optimal solution, prioritizing client success.

• Develop and oversee the team's technical documentation and repository management practices, including tasks such as creating branches, pull requests, and merges.

• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to ensure adequate oversight of architecture and dependencies that influence product strategy and direction.

• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and resolving complex bug fixes with an emphasis on security, performance, and reliability.

• Actively lead within the Engineering Practice community, mentoring Senior Engineers and others through Communities of Practice (CoPs) or on project teams, fostering the development of technical skills.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 10+ years of experience in web development, with expertise in the following technologies:

• Python and its frameworks

• PostgreSQL

• AWS

• Docker

• A working knowledge of front-end development (JS, CSS, HTML).

• Familiarity with the OAuth2 and OpenID Connect protocols.

• High level of English proficiency is essential for interaction with a globally distributed development team.

• Proven experience in leading teams utilizing Agile software development methodologies.

• Demonstrated capability in adhering to and adapting high-level architecture to suit project and client requirements.

• Ability to verify and validate architectural implementations and influence overall architecture beyond the team.

• Proficiency in object-oriented programming, preferably with experience in languages such as Python.

• High-level design expertise following UML / C4 / ArchiMate standards.

• Experience working collaboratively with relevant information stakeholders to create and implement well-tested, scalable, secure, and performant enterprise-level systems that effectively deliver the client’s desired business outcomes.

• Proven initiative in mentoring other engineers and decision-makers across the organization.

• Strong understanding of architectural styles and design patterns, SOLID principles, and OWASP guidelines.
