This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Guatemala.
• Take charge of guiding the technical direction and implementation carried out by the entire team within the established architecture throughout all phases, from conceptualization to deployment.
• Assess trade-offs among correctness, robustness, performance, and customer impact to guarantee the creation of the ideal solution, prioritizing client success.
• Develop and oversee the team's technical documentation and repository management practices, which include tasks such as creating branches, pull requests, merges, and more.
• Work in collaboration with product, design, and engineering teams to ensure necessary oversight of architecture and dependencies that affect product strategy and direction.
• Engage in code reviews, documentation, and resolving complex bug fixes, emphasizing security, performance, and reliability.
• Actively participate as a leader in the Engineering Practice community, mentoring Senior Engineers and others through Communities of Practice (CoPs) or project teams, fostering the growth of technical skills.
• At least 10+ years of experience in web development, showcasing expertise in the following technologies:
• Proficiency in Python and its frameworks.
• Experience with PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of AWS.
• Familiarity with Docker.
• A basic understanding of frontend development (JS, CSS, HTML).
• Knowledge of OAuth2 and OpenID Connect protocols.
• A high level of English proficiency is necessary for effective interaction with a globally distributed development team.
• Proven experience leading teams in Agile software development methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to follow and adapt high-level architecture to meet project and client requirements.
• Capability to verify and validate architecture implementations while influencing overall architecture beyond the team.
• Proficient in applying object-oriented programming, with a preference for experience in languages like Python.
• High-level design skills using UML / C4 / ArchiMate.
• Experience in collaborating effectively with relevant information stakeholders to develop and implement well-tested, scalable, secure, and high-performing enterprise-level systems that achieve the client's desired business outcomes.
• Proven initiative in mentoring other engineers and decision-makers throughout the organization.
• Strong understanding of architectural styles and design patterns, including SOLID principles and OWASP.
