This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Provide independent guidance on the technical direction and implementation for the entire team within the established architecture, covering all phases from conceptualization to deployment.

• Analyze trade-offs between correctness, robustness, performance, and customer impact to ensure the development of optimal solutions, prioritizing client success.

• Develop and manage the team's technical documentation and repository practices, including tasks such as creating branches, pull requests, and merges.

• Collaborate effectively with product, design, and engineering teams to oversee architecture and dependencies that influence product strategy and direction.

• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and resolving complex bugs, with an emphasis on security, performance, and reliability.

• Actively lead within the Engineering Practice community, mentoring Senior Engineers and others through Communities of Practice (CoPs) or project teams, fostering the enhancement of technical capabilities.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10+ years of web development experience, demonstrating proficiency in the following technologies:

• Python and related Python frameworks.

• PostgreSQL.

• AWS.

• Docker.

• At least a basic understanding of frontend development (JS, CSS, HTML).

• Familiarity with OAuth2 and OpenID Connect protocols.

• High level of English proficiency is essential for interaction with a globally distributed development team.

• Experience leading teams utilizing Agile software development methodologies.

• Proven ability to follow and adapt high-level architecture to align with project and client requirements.

• Capability to validate architecture implementations and influence overall architecture beyond the team.

• Expertise in object-oriented programming, with preferred experience in languages such as Python.

• Proficiency in high-level design using UML / C4 / ArchiMate.

• Experience in collaborating effectively with relevant information stakeholders to create and implement well-tested, scalable, secure, and high-performing enterprise systems that achieve the client’s desired business outcomes.

• Demonstrated initiative in mentoring other engineers and decision-makers throughout the organization.

• Strong knowledge of architectural styles and design patterns, SOLID principles, and OWASP guidelines.
