Python Developer, Mid-Level – Maritime Industry

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and uphold robust backend services and APIs utilizing Python (REST and GraphQL) within a microservices framework.

• Engage with both SQL and NoSQL databases to model, query, and enhance data storage for optimal performance and scalability.

• Integrate services utilizing Azure cloud infrastructure, capitalizing on managed services for compute, storage, and messaging.

• Write clean, testable code and take an active role in code reviews, contributing to team standards and best practices.

• Collaborate with product, data, and frontend teams to deliver comprehensive features that address real maritime challenges.

• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring the reliability and observability of backend systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of professional experience in developing backend applications using Python.

• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and practical experience with GraphQL.

• Experience in working with microservices-based architectures within production settings.

• Proficient in SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar) and NoSQL solutions (MongoDB, CosmosDB, or similar).

• Familiarity with Azure cloud services (App Services, Functions, Service Bus, Blob Storage, etc.).

• Solid understanding of software engineering principles: clean code, testing, and version control with Git.

• Nice to have: Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes.

• Nice to have: Exposure to event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Event Hub).

• Nice to have: Background in the maritime, logistics, or industrial technology industries.

• Nice to have: Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
