Python Backend Developer – SWAT Team

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Design and maintain Python microservices that enhance internal gateway tools and platform advancements.

• Develop backend functionalities in accordance with technical requirements and architectural frameworks.

• Incorporate third-party APIs and services into both existing and new systems.

• Aid in enhancing both legacy and modern systems, including the creation of API abstraction layers.

• Collaborate with senior engineers and DevOps teams on CI/CD processes, deployments, and monitoring activities.

• Produce clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code.

• Engage in code reviews and participate in technical discussions within the team.

• Assist in identifying bugs and performance issues, contributing to solutions and enhancements.

• Evolve with the team by learning and influencing system design decisions over time.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in backend engineering.

• Proficient in Python development.

• Familiarity with FastAPI or Django frameworks.

• Understanding of REST APIs and fundamental concepts of microservices.

• Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines (preferably GitLab).

• Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS or GCP).

• Experience in integrating external APIs.

• Strong grasp of software engineering best practices, including testing, version control, and clean coding standards.

• Exposure to distributed systems is a plus.
