This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Attend two in-person board meetings and one committee meeting each year, typically lasting 2-3 days in Columbus, Ohio.
• Engage in 2-4 board conference calls on an annual basis.
• Participate on up to three committees, ensuring at least one in-person meeting each year.
• Review and comprehend the bylaws and policies of the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians.
• Stay informed about relevant issues and trends affecting the public; share perspectives when topics pertinent to the public are discussed.
• Acquire knowledge of National Registry governance and adhere to established policies.
• Act as a resource for staff and fellow board members.
• Attend and actively engage in all Board meetings and assigned committee sessions; ask questions and share viewpoints, even if they differ from those of others.
• Come prepared for all meetings by reviewing materials and participating in discussions and decisions.
• Review and respond to all action and information requests from the organization.
• Provide feedback and cast votes on Board decisions.
• Observe parliamentary procedures during all meetings.
• Exhibit professional behavior in all board meetings.
• Support all decisions made by the board, even when representing a minority viewpoint.
• Sign and adhere to the Conflict of Interest statement and policy.
• Show dedication to board responsibilities and the EMS community.
• Carry out tasks assigned by the Chair or the Board of Directors.
• Must be a current or former consumer of EMS services.
• CANNOT:
• · Be a current or former member of the EMS profession.
• · Be a supervisor, manager, direct co-worker, or an employee or subordinate of individuals in the EMS profession.
• · Be an employee of a Nationally Certified EMS provider or of an employer of Nationally Certified EMS providers.
• · Be a person who currently receives or has received income from the EMS profession within the last five years.
• All travel and related expenses incurred for National Registry Board activities will be reimbursed.
