Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska.

📋 Description

• Assess, diagnose, and provide treatment for patients with a diverse array of psychiatric disorders utilizing evidence-based methodologies.

• Prescribe medications and implement psychotherapeutic treatments as necessary.

• Manage an independent panel of patients tailored to clinical acuity and individual needs.

• Refer complex cases to seasoned subspecialty psychiatrists for expert consultation.

• Collaborate with the clinical pharmacist on intricate medication-related inquiries.

• Coordinate effectively with primary care providers, therapists, educational institutions, and families as required.

• Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning meetings.

• Document precise encounter notes in Healthie, supported by Nabla AI documentation tools.

• Ensure documentation is completed within 48 hours following each patient visit.

• Adhere to clinic policies, prescribing standards, and comply with state and federal regulatory guidelines.

• Stay updated on advancements in psychiatric treatment.

• Attend weekly Provider Rounds and a monthly All-Staff meeting during the work week.

• Utilize the CME benefit and share pertinent knowledge with the team.


⛳️ Requirements

• An MSN or DNP degree with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner is required.

• Board certification as a PMHNP-BC is necessary.

• An active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Alaska, or eligibility to obtain one before the start date.

• Clinical experience in diagnosing and treating psychiatric conditions is essential.

• A home office setup that supports secure and reliable telehealth sessions.

• Strong written communication skills are a must.

• Experience working with rural or underserved populations is beneficial, though not mandatory.

• Experience with child and adolescent patients is advantageous, but not required.

• Experience in prescribing Buprenorphine is a plus, though not essential.

• Additional state licenses are advantageous, but not a requirement.

• Must be able to reside in Alaska.

• Ability to work full-time, defined as 36 scheduled hours of patient care each week.

• Employment will be on a W-2 basis.
