This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and manage medication for participants in the FamilyWell program through telehealth, focusing on the short-term management of mental health issues during the perinatal period and/or peri/menopause. Offer treatment recommendations for patients requiring more intensive or specialized mental health care.
• Provide pre-conception medication consultations and psycho-education for individuals who are trying to conceive and are currently being treated with psychotropic medications.
• Carry out asynchronous case consultations by reviewing clinical information compiled by the patient’s care team, as well as examining available medical records. Focus case review consultations primarily on patients who are new to the caseload or those who are not showing the expected improvement under their current treatment plan. Offer recommendations for subsequent treatment steps.
• Ensure documentation for case consultations and direct patient visits is completed within 24 hours of the visit.
• Collaborate with care managers to monitor the status and population health of their assigned patient caseload. The psychiatric consultant will utilize FamilyWell’s registry to track all assigned patients and prioritize them for case review and treatment adjustments.
• Provide educational support to the care team on diagnosing and managing behavioral health conditions.
• Be available for occasional ad hoc telephone, email, or telehealth consultations with OB providers regarding complex patients or challenging situations during normal working hours. Maintain professional cell phone and email accounts for contact during regular business hours, checking them daily, and responding to email inquiries/consultations within two business days, sooner if urgent.
• Licensed psychiatric nurse practitioner in Texas.
• Capable of practicing independently without supervision in the state(s) of licensure.
• Possess an active DEA license in the state(s) of licensure.
• Hold an active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner certification issued by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Maintain a positive, flexible, and solution-oriented attitude.
• Ability to rapidly synthesize medical and psychiatric information and develop effective, evidence-based clinical recommendations.
• Passionate, driven, and inspired by a mission to enhance mental healthcare delivery for perinatal and/or perimenopause patients, especially in vulnerable populations.
• Experience or interest in perinatal or perimenopause mental health and collaborative care.
