Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.

📋 Description

• Conduct psychiatric diagnostic evaluations for general mental health and substance use disorders across all age groups.

• Manage psychopharmacological treatments for all diagnosed psychiatric conditions.

• Offer medication-assisted treatment to individuals with opioid use disorder (OUD) who are in active withdrawal or recovery.

• Provide supportive psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, and demonstrate expertise in trauma-informed care, harm reduction strategies, and patient-centered treatments.

• Exhibit proficiency in coordinating care between psychiatric, substance use treatment, and medical services.

• Deliver direct support to both scheduled and walk-in patients.

• Complete validated rating scales, documentation, and treatment plans to aid in determining the appropriate level of care.

• Coordinate care for patients, including psychological assessments, medical referrals, resources, peer support, housing, and other identified social determinants.

• Engage directly with a multidisciplinary team, including primary care providers, pediatricians, OB/GYNs, counselors, peer support staff, and care coordinators.

⛳️ Requirements

• Hold an active and unrestricted medical license in both the primary residence state and the state where medical services are provided.

• Possess 2+ years of experience as a Psychiatric Advance Practice Provider (For Nurse Practitioners: PMHNP Required) (For Physician Assistants: CAQ in Psychiatry preferred).

• Have a valid DEA license.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
