This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Take ownership of protein design as a product, creating the necessary planning structures and workflow organization tools to support a diverse team of scientists and engineers.
• Assume overall responsibility by capturing requirements and developing roadmaps to ensure the team is clear on upcoming tasks.
• Manage team resources effectively between platform tools and therapeutic molecules.
• Develop automations to systematically capture, organize, and communicate tasks for both the team and leadership.
• Collaborate with computational and experimental scientists to establish processes that serve as the foundation for the discovery pipeline.
• Aim for individual ownership and a leadership role in shaping how Amgen achieves results.
• Doctorate degree OR Master’s degree with 2 years of product ownership experience OR Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of product ownership experience OR Associate’s degree with 8 years of product ownership experience.
• Proven experience in product ownership related to machine learning or therapeutic development.
• Advanced education in one of the following fields: Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Computational Biology.
• A robust background in workflow planning.
• Experience in building automations for workflow tracking tools such as Jira.
• Familiarity with UNIX/Linux, Python, PyTorch, Git, and cloud computing platforms.
• Experience working with biological data and applying machine learning techniques in computational biology.
• Understanding of protein design workflows.
• Excellent communication, project management, and technical leadership skills, coupled with a passion for working in an interdisciplinary team environment.
