This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
• Manage losses and claims for property and casualty insurance providers
• Review insurance policies and other documentation to ascertain coverage
• Conduct interviews, phone calls, and/or correspondence with claimants and witnesses about the claim
• Consult police and hospital records and assess property damage to evaluate the company's liability, employing various investigative methods based on the insurance type
• Calculate repair, replacement, or compensation costs
• Compile findings into a report and negotiate settlements with claimants
• Advise on litigation by the legal department when negotiations for settlement fail
• Participate in litigation hearings
• Update case reserves in assigned claims files to account for anticipated costs
• Assist in creating loss experience reports to aid in assessing profitability and determining sufficient future rates
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned
• Contribute to the organization's quality program(s)
• Travel as necessary
• Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university is preferred
• Acquire IIA-AIC designation within 12 to 18 months
• A valid state adjuster license is mandatory
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including proficiency in presentations
• Proficient in PC applications, including Microsoft Office Suite
• Proven dedication to timely reporting
