This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Conducts investigations into claims to ascertain the cause, evaluates the scope and amount of loss, verifies coverage, and recommends final resolutions for assigned cases.
• Capable of accurately and independently interpreting policies across all lines of business (Personal, Commercial & Farm).
• Diligently and accurately documents all developments within the claim file.
• Prepares clear, thorough, and concise notes or correspondence detailing conclusions and recommendations.
• Resolves claims within authorized limits or seeks subsequent approval from the Home Office.
• Identifies potential suspicious claims or possible third-party subrogation opportunities.
• Responsible for ensuring the security of financial processing related to claims, along with safeguarding information contained in claims files.
• Ensures accurate reserves are maintained and adjusted as necessary.
• Suggests reserve increases for cases that exceed authority limits.
• May need to prepare for and attend trials, settlement conferences, and meetings with policyholders.
• Represents the company's stance on coverage and disposition issues.
• Engages directly with policyholders regarding coverage and resolution issues as directed by Home Office guidelines.
• Evaluates assigned claims and strategizes their investigation; may participate in training programs, conferences, and both departmental and inter-departmental meetings.
• May liaise with excess carriers and reinsurers regarding case status and developments.
• Conducts both onsite and virtual inspections of damages to address coverage and damage issues, including preparing comprehensive repair estimates for covered damages.
• May collaborate with contractors, building consultants, or independent adjusters in the estimation process as directed by the Home Office.
• Skilled in preparing estimates for building repairs.
• Manages claims related to business interruption and actively oversees the restoration period.
• Mentors Claim Representatives and Senior Claim Representatives upon request.
• Pursues ongoing education and training.
• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in moderate to complex Property loss adjusting.
• Exceptional Written and Verbal Communication Skills.

• Effective Time Management abilities.
• Proven negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency with estimating software such as Xactimate.
• Experience on a Property team handling field claims.
• Prior experience in construction, restoration, or claims management.
