Claims Specialist – Mechanical Protection

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluates claims for additional coverage options provided by vehicle manufacturers or warranties for parts and labor from previous repairers.

• Issues claim payment approvals based on accurate parts and labor costs using available data sources.

• Delegates third-party inspectors to assist in investigating approximately 5% of claims on average.

• Offers customer support to callers with inquiries about filing claims or disputing claims.

• Handles incoming calls from agents and policyholders.

• May deliver direct quotes over the phone.

• Effectively interprets and communicates all guidelines.

• May process quotes and forward information to third-party inspectors to support investigations.

• Regularly manages and processes calls with attention to detail and accuracy.

• Consistently delivers exceptional customer service.


⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required (this may include specialized vocational courses in automotive repair).

• Relevant state adjuster licenses are mandatory.

• A minimum of one Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certificate must be maintained.

• At least 6 months of experience as a Claims Specialist Trainee through the internal training program.

• Alternatively, a combination of education and/or experience is acceptable.

• Experience in managing mechanical protection claims is typically gained through roles as an auto technician and/or service department service writer.
