Property Adjuster II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Exercise independent judgment and discretion when managing various property claims.

• Provide assistance or represent the claims supervisor as needed.

• Conduct investigations and interviews, assess damages, and travel to damage locations within the designated area.

• Prepare estimates, offer recommendations, address coverage inquiries, and oversee litigation processes.

• Set and uphold reserves; review reports and related documentation; direct experts; ascertain coverage and claim value; authorize or deny payments; and negotiate claims with plaintiff attorneys when required.

• Maintain documentation of claim files and submit reports for closure.

• Identify subrogation scenarios and take necessary actions.

• Manage the assigned territory and ensure claims are resolved effectively.

• Collaborate with agents and district sales managers.

• Support the claims supervisor or represent the company in legal proceedings as needed.

• Complete industry-related training and participate in ongoing education on policy changes, interpretations, and legislation.

• Aid in training new claims adjusters.

• Join the Catastrophe Team when required.

• Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED with five years of claims handling experience, or equivalent; alternatively, a Bachelor’s Degree with two years of claims handling experience, or equivalent, is required.

• Reside within the assigned territory unless a relocation is approved by the company.

• Ability to drive and travel frequently within the designated territory.

• Willingness to obtain an adjuster license within 45 days of employment.

• Commitment to secure and maintain any necessary licenses.

• Completion of the Associate in Claims (AIC) program is preferred.

• A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory.

• Capability to participate in the Catastrophe Team, including potential short-notice travel to other locations for extended periods exceeding two consecutive weeks.

• Strong time management and organizational skills are preferred.

• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.

• Ability to lift over 50 lbs with the aid of lifting equipment.

• Capability to access heights and perform driving duties frequently.

• Ability to lift or move objects weighing between 0–20 lbs and 20–50 lbs.

• Proficiency in manual keying, data entry, and computer usage.

• Ability to move, push, pull, and transport wheeled objects and equipment.
